Is this collar padded?
No, this is a single layer nylon webbing collar without padding. The nylon is soft and lightweight, which works beautifully for everyday wear and dogs who don't pull hard. If you have a strong puller or a dog with a sensitive neck, the padded neoprene collar in our range would suit them better.
Is it strong enough for a puller?
This collar is built for everyday wear, not heavy duty pulling. The plastic quick release buckle works well for normal use but isn't designed for sustained pressure from a strong puller. For dogs who pull hard on the lead, look at the padded neoprene collar with a metal lock buckle, or the quick clip carabiner collar.
How do I measure my dog's neck?
Wrap a soft tape measure around the middle of your dog's neck where the collar will sit. Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck. If your dog measures between sizes, choose the larger one. The slider adjuster gives you a wide range of fine tuning room.
Can my puppy wear this?
Yes, this is a great first proper collar for a growing puppy. The wide adjustment range means it grows with them through several months. Once they outgrow it, the same colour can usually be ordered up a size.
Will the colour fade?
The dye is solution dyed into the nylon, which holds colour very well over time. Daily exposure to sun and water will gradually soften any colour, but you'll get many months of vibrant wear before any noticeable change.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap, rinse, and air dry flat. The nylon dries very quickly. Don't machine wash. The buckle and metal D ring will wear faster than necessary in a washing machine.
