The Dog Love No Pull Harness

In my Tranmere salon, I see what cheap harnesses do to a coat. Mats under the chest, broken hair on the shoulders, raw skin at the buckles. I tested six brands. TrueLove was the only one that protected the coat and stopped the pull. It's the one I trust on my own clients.

No Pull Harness size guide. XS 33 to 43cm fits puppies and toy poodles. S 43 to 56cm fits frenchies, pugs and JRTs. M 56 to 69cm fits staffies and border collies. L 69 to 81cm fits labs and golden retrievers. XL 81 to 107cm fits german shepherds and rotties.

What to expect

Your first week with the harness

Most dogs adjust within seven days of consistent walks. Here's roughly how that looks, day by day, so you know what's normal.



Day 1

First fit

Adjust all four straps. Two flat fingers should slide under each strap.


Day 2

First walk

Some pulling is still normal. Stay calm and reward loose leash moments.


Day 4

Pattern shifts

Your dog starts self correcting more often. Walks feel easier already.


Day 7

Calm walks

Loose leash, relaxed pace, and finally a walk you both enjoy.

FAQ

Does it go over my dog's head?

No. It opens with quick release buckles at the neck and the belly, so you lay it on and clip it. Nothing goes over the ears or the eyes. This is the single biggest reason nervous dogs, flat faced breeds and puppies take to this one so quickly.

Will it actually stop the pull?

The front clip changes the angle. When your dog leans forward, they get redirected sideways instead of charging ahead. Most dogs ease off within a few walks.

How do I wash it?

Wash bag, cold gentle cycle, air dry. Keeps the lining soft and the hardware in good shape.

What if the size is off?

We're based in Tranmere. Drop it back to the salon or post it back for an easy exchange.

Can I use it in the car?

The top handle is genuinely useful for close control at the car door, but please don't treat any walking harness as a crash tested restraint. If car safety is your main concern, buy a harness built and tested for that job.
